20 run and Fijian yoga//2.3 mi

Another great workout for the week! Dirt mile: 45 sec more than 5k pace, then bringing it down to 5k pace in 15 min. Good packing, and switching the leaders helped sooo much! Every 3 min new leaders picked up the pace. The beginning was a little off but we got into it well and ended strong. Cooled around Urie circle. 60 min//7.1 mi

Ran at the state course while I was up North for Mike's race. There was some kind of Utes race going on but they ran on the road the whole time so I just ran on the grass and stayed out of their way haha. Ran the course loop twice and tried to hit parts I struggle at hard. The top of the hills, downhill, and last 800 I gave extra pushes. Got me really pumped for state!! Also the stream water by the hidden trail at the end tastes really good, hopefully it wasn't bad..solid run tho! Paced myself to around 7:45 cause that's how our recovery/non-workout runs should be! 50 min//6.5 mi

Suicidal tendencies trail was fun! Right off we ran into a tarantella and Brianna held it for a second. She lived so it's all good. Ran into my seminary teacher from last year, Brother Black! Workout at Bloomington hills. 4x4:30 repeats at 5k pace. Didn't have much of a pack, the mindsets weren't attacking. It was good for me, Jess helped so much, I love pushing with her she is so positive!! Jv girls and boys did great I love watching them push with the pain. 60 min//7 mi

Race up at Murray today. Got off real good but by the first mile I wasn't with anyone. Not Jess, Caroline, Ellie or anyone. That's where my first mistake was. I kept pushing and responded little to coach, but not enough. I let the gap grow. The positive is that I passed 3 girls up the hill and 2 down. But my finish just wasn't all out. Pr'd some but I gotta do better to reach our team goals. Our spread was way too big, racing together is where there's strength. Bob Firman will be a race where our team wants it! S/o to Ness, she got her goal of sub 20!! And a bunch of others that did awesome! 55 min//6.5 mi

Ran after the ACT to the Sullivan park bridge and back. Heel really hurt, tried to run on my toes and work on my form. 2,1,3,2,1,2 pick-ups were good, the run is always better with a solid pace! It was nice to clear my head, running is amazing that way! Finished and found my Heel really inflamed and redish so I'm taking Advil and am icing it 3x15 min on and off. 60 min//7.4 mi

Awesome run with ALL the girls!! Towards the hills we still had the majority with us! My heel hurt really bad the first half so I stayed in the back of the pack. Gonna ice a lot. 8x100 hills went nice w/lots of different girls leading! The way back felt tons better and finished strong. Also love being able to run with my dope sis Ness she's doing good!! 70 min//8.5 mi

Workout at region golf course. Longer warm up- like 4 miles. Legs were super tired but I pushed through it with the help of the girls! Finished really strong and as a pack!! The only one we split was the third one cause we had to run single file on loose sand and we were dodging people. 2x(5:30 8k pace + 5:30 5k pace) good confidence booster for races and that us four can definitely pack like this in races in we can do it everyday at practice!! 85 min//9.2 mi

Dirt mile workout- 5 striders the 15 min from 5k+45sec to 5k pace (6 min/mi). Every 3 min we shifted and switched leaders. For me it was a lot better than the first, finished with the group and made it farther. Could've used a 5th girl at the end, but it will keep getting better! Awesome group for the majority! My favorite part was when Caroline led us in yelling NXN NXN to get the group to pack! 60 min//7.2 mi

Long morning run with 2x2 miles tempo 75-60 sec slower than 5k pace. Parkway loop, the first one started off good but some girls fell off in the middle and regrouping for the end. The last one was super solid with about 7 girls for the whole time!! No falls today so that was a positive haha. Also solid finish. 80 min//9.8 mi

Workout in Bloomington; 5x4:00 (3x5k, 2x8k), with lower recovery. Some good packing in there especially at the beginning. It was a good workout for me, stuck in there with Jess and Caroline. It was awesome to see Brianna right with us on the LAST one!! 65 min//7.2 mi

Bob Firman begins!! Drove to Sugarhouse Park to run the state course! Ran through it, then backwards to mold it into our brains. 8 striders afterwards, 57 min//6.4 mi

 

Awesome team talk about beating the old Pine View. Switched perspective around and sought out our team and individual weaknesses. Mine was the last half of my race I fall off and I start my kick-fast finish-too late. Team wise- getting in better position to start and running together!!

Bob Firman race! Got off in a good position right with Jess and Caroline. I stuck with them for the first mile and a half then fell off a bit. The first lap was pretty good, then the real challenge came. The pain hit and I told myself it was good but didn't convince myself enough to push harder. I tried, but not enough. I was positive, but still had nagging negatives. When Ellie came up I pushed but didn't stay with her or Alli. Negatives/will overcome next race- didn't push up hill well, finished last 200, not 800. The positives were I pushed and passed after the beach and same with the downhill. I got into good position to start and stayed with Jess and Caroline longer! Also Pr'd by 15 sec from last year's bob firman time, and 3 seconds for a 5k! Great but still I still have much more to do and our team does too! 50 min//6 mi

Heel hurt really bad so my cool down was super chill, gonna need to get back into a routine of icing

 

Loved this trip so so much and am gonna miss it! Learned that Roberts has some good 80s music, Alli has a sassy side haha, Jessica looks like Brad Pitt and so much more haha. PVXC RULES

Long progression run to past Dixie rock! Had a hard start/middle with my heel. Trying not to limp so I don't injure my other foot haha. But it got better, and the weather was amazing. Started at about 8 min/mile pace and made our way down to finish at 6:40 min/mi. Lots of downhill the way back so that accounts for the huge gap. Great group too, had at least 8 girls with us today! 70 min//9.2 mi

Run to Harmon's light and back. Sore quads and swollen heel but felt better later on as usual! Our finish was great. 4x200s faster than race pace. 55 min//7.2 mi

Good pace for morning run. Plyos. 20 min//2.5 mi

Awesome workout at dirt mile. Great weather, great run, great group :) 4x4:30 faster than 5k to start and finish, and slower than for the middle. Coach's reminders on high knees and quick steps made a big difference! Also every mile got faster as we went, now we know we can do that in our races. 60 min//7.5 mi

Ps happy birthday to Gracie! She killed it today. And cool story she prayed for rain on her birthday and it did so happy day

Ceder invite! A big reason why I didn't attack this race- I didn't mentally prepare. I know physically I can do it but mentally I need to be more confident and ready. Started off more behind Jess and Caroline cause hoping to have a faster finish but that didn't work. Ellie caught up in no time and I struggled to stay with her for a bit but then fell behind. Finished strong yet I know there should've been more. Team overall did amazing!! All the girls were pr'ing and it was good all around :) 55 min//7 mi
